Thien is a young researcher working at Ho Chi Minh Center for Disease Control Vietnam. Her background is in public health nutrition. She is interested in researching dietary patterns and incorporating between Vietnamese diet and a sustainable food system to achieve a sustainable and healthy diet and improve the likelihood of Vietnamese farmers. She is also interested in developing and implementing a school food and nutrition program or farm-to-table program to increase awareness of Vietnamese children and adolescents regarding sustainable food systems and sustainable and healthy diets. Her latest research focused on childhood overweight and obesity in urban Vietnam, anthropometric and dietary assessment tools, dietary patterns, and food and nutrition policies in Vietnam under the free trade agreement.
