In my capacity as Science Education Officer with the AnTaisce, National Trust of Ireland, I work across a number of awareness buildilng projects for citizens, teachers, and school children. We work particularly on building awareness of air emissions through hands on experiments led by children and youth. In one we help schools measure NO2 emissions in their area and create follow-up projects that help pupils understand how their actions can reduce emissions in the area. This includes sustainable consumption and production by understanding the emissions from certain goods and lifestyle choices. We foster this further in a citizen science project called Clean Air Together in Dublin Ireland. As a sustainability consultant in Brussels, I works across a number of sustianable consumption and production projects with C40 cities and the European Commission. One project my team was closely involved with was the development of embodied carbon targets and benchmarks for the building sector in the EU and development of a roadmap for DGENV. The aim of having benchmarks and targets are to promote sustainable production of buildlings. My MSC Environmental Management and Policy taught me further insights into behavioural economics, sustainable livelihoods, and policy analysis in the field.
