10YFP Board and SCP Partners Meeting

We invite partners and friends to a day of engaging topical sessions held in the context of the 6th session of the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA-6)

Open to our Board and Partners as well as all interested member states and stakeholders, the one-day meeting, convened by the 10YFP Board, aims at fostering greater understanding of key role of sustainable consumption and production in supporting the implementation of the UNEA6 theme and its objectives.

The one-day meeting will highlight the role of sustainable consumption and production and circular economy approaches for addressing the theme of UNEA-6: “Effective, inclusive, and sustainable multilateral actions against climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution” and will also connect with the themes of the 31st Meeting of the International Resource Panel within the context of the launch of its latest Global Resources Outlook Report. 

Throughout the day, we are bringing together the 10YFP Board with partners, stakeholders, and friends, including interested Member States. Across several engaging thematic discussions, we will be showcasing five platforms, tools and/or initiatives developed by the 10YFP and its partners, as well as best practices and relevant initiatives linked to the implementation of the Global Strategy for Sustainable Consumption & Production (2022-2030). 

Partners and friends are welcome to join any or all our thematic sessions featuring keynote addresses, panels discussions and dialogues and involving a broad range of stakeholders from across the public and private sector, NGOs, academia, international organisations and the youth, all working together towards advancing the implementation of SDG12.

If you are a registered participant to the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA-6) you can also register with our side event for our limited in-person attendance for sessions of interest or the whole day. The event will be held UNEP HQ (CR-14), registration with our side event is necessary in addition to UNEA-6 registration (Deadline: 16 February 2024). 

A live online broadcast is also available, simply register to join the event virtually and we will offer you the video link. Your link will be eligible for you to join us for either single sessions or the whole day.

08.30 – 10.00: 10YFP Executive Breakfast Board Meeting: participation of 10YFP Board Members, Co-Leads of 10YFP Programmes & selected Member States.

10.00 – 10.50: Thematic session I: Towards a Global Dialogue on Sustainable Consumption and Production.

11.00 – 11.50: Thematic Session II: Leveraging digital standards and tools for sustainable consumption and production.

LUNCH

13.00 – 13.50: Thematic Session III: Business commitments to implement sustainable consumption and production and circular economy and measure progress through a Global Circularity Protocol for Business.

14.00 – 14.50: Thematic Session IV: Accelerating actions towards the implementation of food systems transformation targets.

15.30 – 16.30: Thematic Session V: Promoting scientific and data-driven approaches to promote SCP: closing the SDG data gap and accelerate the implementation of the circular economy.
