Milan Urban Food Policy Pact Awards - beyond 200 signatory cities

The MUFPP has now been signed by 206 cities from all over the world representing over 450 million inhabitants.

The Milan Urban Food Policy Pact Awards (MUFFP) 2019 held its 4th edition at the city of Montpellier, France. Proof that the challenge of food systems transformation keeps building up momentum and that local level governments are leading change, the Milan Pact Awards saw participation in the awards double this year, with submissions from 104 food practices from 62 MUFPP signatory cities. Washington DC (USA) received the award for Highest Score Award and Mezitli (Turkey) received the Challenging Environment Award.

The MUFPP has now been signed by 206 cities (congratulations!) from all over the world representing over 450 million inhabitants. MUFPP signatory cities commit to develop sustainable food systems by encouraging interdepartmental and cross-sector coordination and including all actors in the policy-making process. Mérida, Mexico, and Barcelona, Spain, will host the the next Annual Gathering in 2020 and 2021.
