IbizaPreservation

IbizaPreservation promotes the conservation and regeneration of the unique socio-environmental heritage of Ibiza and Formentera by participating in the
implementation and management of strategic environmental projects in the two
islands. To this end, IbizaPreservation aims to lead, foster and participate in
initiatives that promote environmental protection and more sustainable ways of
life, through building consensus and forming alliances across all sectors. The
Foundation aims to contribute to the evolution of Ibiza and Formentera towards a
model of sustainable island life for the 21st century by promoting its goals and
providing technical and financial support to high quality environmental projects,
above all in the areas of: land protection, marine conservation, NGO
strengthening, water management, waste and energy.

Commitments:

In the framework of the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative, IbizaPreservation commits to:
  • Encourage their affiliated organisations and businesses or partners to join the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative by informing them of the foundation’s membership of the initiative, explaining the objectives of the project and also by carrying out 4 awareness-raising or training activities by 2025.
  • Advise and guide affiliated organisations and businesses or partners to better manage plastics in their operations through improved practices, criteria, standards and policies, and support them in the implementation of their own commitments to the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative whee applicable.
  • Communicate successes to affiliated organisations and businesses or other partners, as well as tourists and key local stakeholders.
  • Report publicly and annually on progress of the implementation of their own commitment to the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative.
