Sustainable Hospitality Alliance

The Sustainable Hospitality Alliance brings together engaged hospitality companies and uses the collective power of the industry to deliver impact locally and on a global scale and have a lasting positive impact on our planet and its people. They develop practical tools, resources and programmes to enable every hotel to operate responsibly and grow sustainably. They use their collective influence and reach to advance responsible business across the industry supply chains and stakeholders. They partner with non-profits, philanthropic organisations, governments and the private sector on shared sustainability challenges such as implementing a circular economy for plastics.

In the framework of the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative, Sustainable Hospitality Alliance commits to: 

  • Providing information on GTPI to the hospitality industry, run awareness-raising activities and encourage others to join the initiative.

  • Creating practical resources (such as factsheets, webinars and guidelines) to support the industry in efforts to implement the circular economy of plastics by raising awareness of the issue and potential steps that can be taken to resolve it. 

  • Sharing relevant resources created by other organisations with their member companies and wider network, where appropriate.

  • Sharing best practice case studies with their members and wider network, where relevant, via resources they create, their social media channels and external speaking events.


 
Climate change is a critical global issue which both affects the hospitality sector and which the sector can play a significant role in helping combat. The Sustainable Hospitality Alliance drives collaborative action to enable the hospitality industry to have a positive impact on our planet and its people. Climate action is a crucial focus of our work, and we need to act fast and together to drive the necessary large-scale reduction in emissions. Our Pathway to Net Positive Hospitality will provide a clear action plan for the hospitality industry to address key environmental issues, including climate change, and make significant progress in working towards a regenerative impact for the planet.
