Travel Without Plastic

Created in 2017, Travel Without Plastic works with accommodation providers, tour operators and other hospitality businesses to help them create and implement strategies to reduce or eliminate single-use items. They work at a global level and include businesses such as TUI, Hilton, IHG, WWF Netherlands, WTTC and UNEP amongst their client base.

Since 2018, the company offers a wide range of services and downloadable resources for hotel managers, operations managers, procurement teams, sustainability teams, marketing and communications departments and product managers who need or want to eliminate single-use items from their business, but who don't have the in-house expertise or the time and resources to put a system into place. TWP frames single-use plastic reduction within a wider sustainability context to ensure that businesses don't solve one problem only to find they have created another. In fact, they are also able to support businesses to implement robust sustainability programmes which incorporate all environmental, social and economic indicators, preparing them for sustainability certification.

Global Tourism Plastics Initiative Signatory

As members of the Advisory Committee, we have already seen how collaboration is proving effective, not only in the sharing of best practices, but also in the pursuit of solutions to common challenges."
- Jo Hendrickx - Founder and CEO, Travel Without Plastic
